Akanksha Puri was born on 26 July 1988 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh into a Hindu family. Her father, R.K. Puri, served as an Assistant Commissioner of Police, while her mother, Chitra Puri, is an astrologer. She has one brother, Amitesh Puri.
She completed her schooling at a village school in Bhopal and later studied at Carmel Convent School, Bhopal. After graduation, Akanksha initially worked as a cabin crew for Kingfisher Airlines before stepping into modeling and acting.
