Monika Panwar was born and raised in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. She did her early schooling at a private school in her hometown. In 2017, she graduated from the National School of Drama (NSD) in Delhi and later moved to Mumbai to follow her dream of becoming an actress.
At first, Monika’s father, who is an engineer, wasn’t fully supportive of her acting ambitions—mainly because he didn’t understand the profession. However, when she got admission to NSD, both her parents felt proud and began supporting her fully.
Coming from a non-filmy background, Monika had to work extra hard to get roles in the film industry. She once shared that Anurag Kashyap played a key role in her journey, calling him a professional guide and protector who helped her in many ways.
