She studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Agra, and later completed her engineering degree from the Institute of Engineering and Technology (I.E.T.), Lucknow. Malti began her journey with beauty pageants and won Miss India Earth 2009, later becoming 2nd Runner-up in Femina Miss India Delhi 2014.
