Renuka started her domestic cricket journey with the Himachal Pradesh women’s team. Her consistent performances soon made her one of the most promising pacers in the circuit. She rose to fame in the 2019–20 Senior Women’s One Day League, where she became the leading wicket-taker with 23 wickets.

Her strong domestic performance earned her a call-up to the national team in August 2021 for the Australia series. She made her T20I debut on 7 October 2021 and ODI debut on 18 February 2022 against New Zealand.

In 2022, she was part of the Indian squad for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand and later for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where India won a silver medal. Renuka finished as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 11 wickets.
